Short Bio (50 words)

Neville Richter has over fifteen years experience developing and teaching course materials in network administration, network managment and security. He led a small development team for seven years that created the ADIOS Linux Live CD. He is currently involved with promoting open source software for education, industry and home use.

Bio (100 words)

Neville Richter (BE, MEngSci, DipCompSci, BA) has over 20 years experience working in Australian Universities. The positions he has held include: Research Assistant, Senior Systems Administrator, IT Security Manager, Senior Lecturer in Information Technology, and Research Fellow.  He has been involved with the teaching of programming languages, operating systems, computer architecture, networking, security, data mining, IT Infrastructure Library (Network Management) and the coordination of teaching streams.  He has developed tools to help teach in these areas. In particular he has built live CDs, web sites and open source applications.  He is currently leading an open source development centre to help others migrate to open source software.
