Open Source Projects
Current projects in the Centre include:ADIOS Linux Live CD/DVDs
- Development of ADIOS Live CD based on Fedora Core. Includes the creation of startup scripts, kernels, packages and configuration files.
- Development of virtual machine environments, includes User Mode Linux (UML), coLinux, Xen and VServer.
- Development of extensions to easily create 'themed' Live CD/DVDs for special purposes, such as: multilanguage support, mathematical packages, data mining, graphical tools, integrated developement environments, educational software and business applications.
- Development of a Live CD/DVD to support Content Management Systems using Apache, MySQL, phpMyAdmin, Drupal, Mambo, Moodle, Mediawiki and Dotproject.

- Review of Free and Open Source software available and build compilation CD/DVDs of open source software to encourage people to install open source tools for the following operating systems:

- Develop Workshops and course guides to help enable users to:
- create secure web sites using apache
- setup drupal content management system
- build mediawiki site
- learn Linux
- secure Linux
- build Linux live CDs
- Prepare online tutorials and documentation using Content Management Systems such as ATutor and Moodle to deliver system administration, networking and security materials.
- Develop educational software using web based tools such as helpmespeak.
