
Welcome to ADIOS coLinux
Instead on running ADIOS from CD you now have the option to run the coLinux version
within Windows. First you install the coLinux software then copy the ADIOS
filesystems, this installation requires nearly 5Gbytes of disc space and your PC should
have 512MB of RAM. You can edit the adios-start.bat configuration to reduce RAM
usage. Other alternative ways to run ADIOS within Windows include VMWare or Virtual
PC.
Installation Procedure
- change directory to CD drive (folder tools)
- install tools\WinPcap
- install tools\putty ssh client
- install tools\vnc viewer
- install tools\7z422 compression software
- install tools\colinux (into c:\colinux, NOT into c:\Program
Files\colinux)
- copy colinux\* to c:\colinux (from CD drive folder coLinux)
- change directory to c:\colinux
- right click on adios.ext3, usr.ext3 and swap.img
bz2 files select 7-zip then extract here
- if needed delete bz2 files to save space
- run adios-start.bat file to start ADIOS colinux
Connection Information
- login user: adios password: 12qwaszx and user:root
password: 12qwaszx
- ssh access use putty via localhost on port 2222
(mapped to port 22 on Linux)
- GUI front end use vncviewer via localhost on port 5901
(mapped to port 5901 on Linux)
- web access use firefox via http://localhost:8080/
(mapped to port 80 on Linux)
- use putty pscp or winscp to transfer files to and from ADIOS colinux
and windows
- ADIOS colinux ip address is 10.0.2.15 and windows ip address is 10.0.2.2
- UML user mode linux requires adios.loop file to run copy from ADIOS
live CD to /opt
- Firewall rules are at /etc/sysconfig/iptables (allow incoming connections for ssh, vnc
and web)
- Outgoing connections may require extra routing rules or changes to /etc/resov.conf
- To restart the Apache web server enter: service httpd restart
- /etc/sysconfig/vncserver defines user and virtual screen resolution
- /home/adios/.vnc/xstartup defines the desktop either startkde or
icewm-session
